Here is what I do with my cameras that don't have strap lugs, like my Zorki 4K, Fed3 etc.
First I separate the case cover from the base by removing the rivet that hold them together and then replace the rivet with a heavy duty snap, all this takes is about 10 minutes.
Then I cut the strap that came with the case just above the rivet that holes it together ( this way I can alway put it back together with a new rivet.)
I them replace the old and most time worn orignal strap with one of the new "Promaster "adjustable strap.
Now I have a camera that I don't have to worry is going to crash to the floor when that old Russian strap gives out and no cover flapping around and can still put the cover on when not in use.
