Look at this lens: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Leica-Canon-Sere...577000631QQcategoryZ30063QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. It went for way more than the original BIN price! And it's corroded so badly it could have been on the Titanic. I wonder what the inside glass surfaces really look like?

I thought someone was calling me.

Shrug. Several people really thought they wanted that lens. But really, if I were to spend that much on a Canon lens, I'd just go to Kevin Li or KEH with an understanding of the trade off of price for service. Stupid is a word I try to avoid using because I want my 4 year old son to not call everything he dislikes "stupid" but the reality is that price was stupid.
I have to fight the urge to email the seller with "congratulations... "

There were 2 interested bidders... both fairly/quite new to eBay buying. They seem to have gotten a tad carried away. That finder looks GRUBBY, and it may look worse on delivery.
It makes me happy with the nice one in a nice case that I overpaid for years ago. Another one I can brag to the wife about, when she asks the eternal question: Why another lens???
Hope the happy new owner has a sense of humor, or can realize that he was part of the problem. This is the type of thing that has people hating eBay. There are possible good reasons, but over enthusiastic bidders have only themselves to blame. You put a top on it, and go away till it's over. Only way to travel on eBay, or any auction. Now if only I lived by my words :angel:

(And if you actually take this seriouly and have gotten this far, I pray you'll forgive me...
)
Scarey part is that I really would like to build a collection of Serenars. Just because...
