Greetings, I recently noticed on the Getty website that they (seemingly) market antiqidated images from private collections as "rights managed" material. Many of the images are from deceased photogrhers and seemingly old enough to be considered public domain? Yet as "rights managed" the owners of the photo collections can profit from their rare images. If this is so, then I've long been in the dark. I've been collecting antique one of a kind (never published) images for deacades and I've been quite fortunate in obtaining several images in my collection which are to say at least suitable for broad publication and stir much historical interest. While I own these one of a kind images, It was my understanding that these are public domain material. I'm wondering how Getty Images is able to market these images comming from the "Hutton House" or the private collection of "John Doe"? Can I myself submit some of my rare image collection to Getty for potential marketing? I'm not sure how to go about submitting the images, as Getty seems to only mention on how to submit images that were created by the owner. Thanks for your time in reading this! Charles
