I've playing with photography for about 15 years, and despite having a portfolio that I'm content with, I don't have much of anything that I would actually frame for display in my home. Perhaps my style of photography is vastly different than my taste in home decorating, or maybe I just don't think of photographs as art. My home is a 1927 English Tudor, so photographs seem too modern for me, but that is my perception.

Would you mind showing me what photographs you have framed to decorate your home, whether they be yours or a sampling of the Masters? Maybe if I see a photo of your homes, my "frame of reference" might be altered...

This is a recent photographs that I will likely frame, but family doesn't qualify as art to me...

Sparrow, the photos you posted were what got me thinking about this. Thanks for reposting them because my cursory search didn't find the thread.

Bob, already my mind is opening up. While I like Eggleston, I never would have thought about displaying his photos in my home. I really like how you did it, and a push in a new direction is exactly what I'm looking for.

On one of my bedroom walls I have lots of 6x4 prints of family and friends, along with a couple 8x10, and on the other I have an A1 print of a photo of mine I really like. All quite personal.

Family photos can be art (whatever art is).

Frame decisive moments that have meaning to you. In the end, this is all that matters.

Decisive moment implies to me a photojournalistic style rather than aesthetically pleasing photographs.

For me, the photo that defines "decisive moment" involves a Vietnamese General by Eddie Adams. This isn't exactly what I would hang on my home walls, but if your definition is different, please show me with what photos you adorn your walls.

Sorry, I'd love to show you the few I have framed and on display but they are nudes I have photographed. Whether they are art or not, they do reflect the beautiful quality both of the wet print and the model. I just stick anything I like on the walls so there is no coherence. My house dates from around 1927 also.

Nudes certainly interest me, but my wife would object.
