Hey guys,
My Summar lens has definitely seen better days and in all honesty, I probably shouldn't even use it anymore... but its such a nice match with my Leica III.(and with a yellow filter contrasty enough.)
But now the lens has started flacking, when you take the front element off you can see some black paint on the edges of the element, this paint has started to come off... no rubbing or touching just slowly falling off. So every now and then I unscrew the element and blow all the loose particles out of the barrel.
But this can't be the solution, there is probably a reason for this paint to be where it is.(I guess to stop light bouncing around.)
Can I fix this myself? some black nail polish carefully applied to the remaining black paint?
Thanx!

Tetenal Optiklack, Schwarz, Totmatt 0938. But brush off the old, loose stuff first. You need a dead (tot) matt, so nail varnish ain't a good idea.
