I love the reptiles. And I love the myth-busting. Not the land of "Endless Summer", huh? Just marketing hype? It does make me a little sad, though.

Dan, sorry I broke your vision of California. I was out photographing a week ago, and this guy was laying on the gravel road. I had my glasses off from focusing my camera (on something else) and I bent over, got close to the snake while focusing. I took the picture and the snake slithered off. Only when I developed it did I realize it was a Rattlesnake. Yikes!
