Summicron 35mm Nr. 11674 vs. 11879 Differences?

Hello,

I'm just a little bit helpless. I can't really find differences between these lenses. I want to spend my M10 a Summicron, but I'm not sure, if these are the same lens with new vs. old package... Both come with the same 6bit-codes (I think)...

Does anybody know, what are the differences? Something in the lens-charts, resolution...?

The newer version has a screw on lens hood the older version uses a snap on. There is a protective ring over the threads at the front of the lens, remove the ring and screw on the lens hood. It has 11 aperture blades instead of 8 and there were changes to the lens coating. Apparently, it's the same optical formula as the V5 but there is an extensive thread about the differences over on LUF.

Thank you. Do you have a pointer to that thread? It seems, I can‘t find it an d a few years ago my account on LUF stopped working (probably because of the Umlaut) so I can‘t ask there myself anymore...

The V5 was my only M mount lens for a long time and is still my favorite. Try this link, the improvements from the previous version are small but Leica felt they were worthwhile.
