Summicron 35mm v 2, early or late?

Is there any difference in performance (comma, distortion, light bouncing) between the early and the late lenses during the production of this version? I usually never ask questions like this before purchasing a lens, but I want one, and there are two offered for about the same price, only one is an early production one, and the other is from a much later batch.

The main change I know of was from version 2 to version 3, beginning at serial number 2461001; at which point there was a change in the optical cell: the diameter of some elements was increased, although still six elements; and the infinity lock was removed.

Thanks, Rob! I learned from another source (a Facebook group) that the possible changes done in between the early and late SNs were merely cosmetic, and that production was partly transferred from Germany to Canada. Since I was considering a purchase, I went for the early SN because it offered a better value (lens, caps, hood, skylight filter... and free shipping!).

We'll see what it looks like and how it works when it comes. It may be paired with either my M2 or one of my M6TTL bodies.
