Hi Guys,
I just acquired a 50mm Cron DR in excellent condition. It, however, lacks the goggles for the close focus. Are goggles one-size-fit-all or are there differences between batches/iterations? Can I just buy on-line without trying them on first.

Thanks & best regards

There are two versions of the goggles for the DR summicron; read here and be sure you get the right one for your DR summicron 50/2. It's not that simple, I've had a late >2M serial number lens and bought 2nd version goggles with simple logo that however would not mount.

Oh, and if you have an SLR, it will probably do "macro" work better tha the Leica with DR. I had this lens for a couple of years, and only ever used the goggles to see if they worked. Then they lived in a drawer til I traded the lens for something else. Great lens, BTW. Draws very much like the Nikkor-H 2/50 in F-mount.

The only reference I can find online is to the engraving. Not a thing about mechanical differences(except this thread) between early & later versions.

Maybe ask Sherry K or Don?
