Suspicious Contax

Thanks, that was good for a laugh, especially after looking at all the pictures of the Contax. He’s even ground off the top layer of leather on the case so he could write Contax on it.
I’m not sure what’s funnier, the possibility he thinks this will fool anyone, or the thought that there might be someone out there whom it would.
World record for forgery ineptitude, at any rate. Still laughing.

The forger could not even get hold of a proper Kiev III to fake up but had to use a Kiev IIIa with factory flash sync pc outlet.

The 1955 year serial number on the lens does not help in his "Contax" delusion.

It couldn't be genuine,

its missing the ikonic German military engraving

"Adolf loves Eva".
Dear Stephen,

You mean that's not a genuine engraving? Damn! I'd been saving that Leica to fund my retirement.

AND it's one of the rare ones with the triangular cam follower for the rangefinder.

Cheers,

R.

The KONTAX and the LEIKA cameras are known collectibles!
Finding a German Hasselblad is as rare as finding a genuine KONTAX camera.

Ya know, this ebay seller has lots of great stuff for sale. I checked out some other sales and noticed he (assuming its a "he") has a bunch of collectible old watches and sports memorabilia for sale. Fascinating stuff!

However, I've noticed a common theme among all his rare collectible amazing items....everything seems to be made special by its engraving. Looks like laser engraving.....hmmmm.

Aren't there laws against such large-scale forgery and fraud?

At least when I looked nobody had bid on the "Contax" yet, but the Hasselbladski was approaching $200 with 24 bids. Some Hasselblad collectors/users must be even more gullible than I thought....

The "Hasselblad" got 31 bids and was sold for £250, and within a couple of days I am sure that the buyer will leave positive feedback. As always.

:bang:

Thanks both of you. It's been a very tedious day here where I work. I needed those.
