The Synchro Compur of my Retina Reflex stuck or opened very slowly.
Some lighter fluid helped with that problem. So what to do next as I amsure that the shutter will stick again as soon as the naphta evapoartes ?
Thanks for every bit of wisdom

This may not be what you want to hear, but my suggestion with Sychro-Compurs is to send it out for professional servicing if you don't know exactly what you are doing. Just spritzing it with lighter fluid probably won't be a very effective long-term solution.

If you still need repair, contact Paul. He is a great guy and did a CLA of my retina.

The Retina Reflex is a whole different animal. At the very least, you should remove the lens elements and flood it with a mix of lighter fluid and graphite. When the lighter fluid evaporates, it leaves the graphite as a dry lubricant. But you have to make sure that you blow out the excess with compressed air. Also, make sure that you clean the shutter blades (both sides and the entire blade, as much as possible) and the aperture blades.

The Retina Reflex is a somewhat complex camera and wouldn't be my first choice to learn camera repair.

Thanks folks.
I got a camera that works now. Just wanted to be sure.
Thanks for the suggestions!
@Gumby I knew what I was doing and asked when I saw that I don't know it.
No need to be condescending...even when well meant

You knew what I was doing. That's great! There was nothing condesending in my reply. For what it is worth... more Synchro Compurs go into shops having been tinkered with but not fixed for a reason. The reason is that they are rather difficult to work on and demand both complete cleaning and exacting lubrication. I was just trying to give you some good advise.

I'm glad you got it working, but Lighten up, amigo.
