Hi,

I have shoot a roll of T Max 400, want to test it. And at home I got D-76, X-Tol and Rodinal. What is the best combination? The original is not at hand, because I want to scan and see how this goes.
Another question is, when I develop Tri-X in D-76, the negatives got a bow, they are not plan, the rest is quite good. I hope you understand, Im not so good in english, soory, waht is to be done?
Thanks alot for helping me out.

I don't think the developer should affect how flat the film turns out when it dries. That's caused by Humidity. Higer humidity = flatter film.

I'd use either D-76 1+1 or Tmax Developer. D76 gives finer grain while Tmax developer gives more grain but really nice tonality.

I've gotten my best results lately using DD-X myself but D-76 1-1 should do a decent job. If you'll be scanning the negs and shot in bright contrasty conditions I'd recommend a 10-15% shortening of the developement time however.

Live dangerously. On the edge. Try Xtol 1:1 with some Rodinal added. Search this forum. There are instructions and samples using Xtol and Rodinal together.
