For the few of you birders, or sports shooters on a tight budget you probably know that this lens is available in Japan for Nikon, Sony and Canon ... shortly available elsewhere. Here is the first decent review that I've seen. At U.S. $1069 I would not expect much, but the images do seem better than expected.
