Any advice offered would be appreciated. I recently acquired an M-mount Tele-Elmar 135 which looked to be in great shape. However. There seems to be a problem with the focusing cam. Pictures of the cam at infinity and minimum focus distance are shown.
The lens will only trip the cam follower in the body if you are moving from infinity focus to around 9M, from there to minimum focus distance, nothing happens with the rf patch.
If you take the lens off the camera and watch the cam as you focus the lens from infinity towards MFD, the cam moves away from the rear of the lens, until the focus ring hits around 9 meters, then it stops moving at all as you keep turning the focus ring towards MFD (minimum focus distance 1.5M). It stops focusing/moving the rf patch, in other words.

You can manually push the cam back into the lens as far as it is supposed to go (now that you have moved the focus ring to MFD-and we are still holding the lens off the camera) then turn the focus ring back from MFD to infinity and the cam moves out-i.e. towards the body/cam follower- all the way from MFD to infinity focus. But, moving back the other way, the cam stops moving and thus moving the cam follower, as soon as you hit 9 meters on your way towards 1.5M.
Hope that makes sense.

Anyone know what the problem is? Fixable, I hope? Easy fix?😕

Anyway here are pictures of the cam all the way out, and all the way in, though it has to be pushed manually to get it all the way in. Goes in easily, FWIW.

Thanks, Godfrey. If it's not obvious to you, then it's likely not something I will be able to fix at home after dinner.
Sending it to Don Goldberg probably good advice; just thought I would post the question here in case the solution was something simple that my simple mind had not hit upon.
