I was wondering if anyone did get one of these yet? Personally, I really am not sure why Zeiss even made one thats f4, and not f2.8. Maybe it has some nice signature or something? Would be nice to see some pics from one. Anyone has anything to offer?

I won't double post the one photo I can find taken with the Tele-Tessar on a Ikon body, so instead have a peak at:

where are the zm 85/4 photos?

I can't seem to find photos I took with this lens. When I manage to find the others, I will share.

But DN is correct: it's a slow lens. I could have opted (and may still) for the Elmarit myself. I could have also just gotten one of the old 90/4 Elmar lenses marketed with the Leica CL. I have seen the Rokkor version below $300 US.

Still, the Tele-Tessar is a nice lens. Focuses smoothly like my other ZM lenses. It's heavy, but just heavy enough. The build quality is the same as the other ZM lenses. If f/4 is fast enough for you, then I can recommend it.

Thanks for your comments! I'm kinda surprised that more people didnt at least try one of these. But I suppose Leica 90/2.8 and Hex 90/2.8 are as good if not better, faster and cheaper lenses.
