There's a Super Ikonta on Ebay right now for $575...and I was watching one to get an idea of decent prices that went for $111.51. Some people are just NUTS these days.

Oh, and that same guy has a 6x4.5 Super Ikonta in user condition for $195. Yeah. Right.

$100 maybe. $125 on the outside. Not $195.

There are a couple of "high end" posters on the dBay Nikon RF listings too. They seem to show up about one a month or so.
I think they use the "philosophy" that some one else posted yesterday.
Something to the effect that during the Great Depression his grandfather was selling apples for a penny a piece.
Then one day, another fellow started selling apples across the street for $1000 a piece.
When the first guy said, "How can you charge so much and hope to make a living" the other one said "I only have to sell one!"
You've got to watch eBay and monitor prices all the time....

Heh...that seller does have one rare thing that someone may be interested in had they not just paid for an S3-2000, or possibly not. Dunno. Pretty high, I'd say.

I've never understood the purpose in complaining, commenting or ridiculing auctions where one doesn't agree with the set price.
If it's not to your liking - then don't buy it.
If it's too high (subjective) - no one is going to buy it and the price comes down.
If it's too high (subjective) - and someone still buys it then God bless market economy.

Rangefinder Man, the first one you linked isn't a brightline finder (the later, black, more desirable "lumi-field" version). The last one I missed went for 80 GBP, which seems to be a strong price for me. But the 85mm is particulary rare, probably because all the Canon-P fans hunting for it...
What you linked is the first chrome version without brightlines. It's the "hole type" with better window-glass. Not just bad, but worth ~ 25 USD.
cheers, Frank

If that finder is worth $500 then don't tell Joe I got the better end of our deal!

Rich's comment makes the most sense to me. If someone pays the price, then it's worth the price.. Price is not only dictated by past transactions, but also by current availability. Besides, it's very hard to judge what (especially emotional) value something represents to someone else. That holds for both buyer and seller alike.

I've seen some of rhonda45th's auctions. I don't recall bidding on anything from him, though. If the price for that item is too high, just move on.

I only just cut and pasted the link. They can't even get the description correct. I though Canon-P owners would need the viewfinder with the parrallax lever on it or chrome version, as the P doesn't have the parrallax bubble that goes up and down. I have the Lumi-Field one which I love using on my L1.

Sorry for being so pedantic, but it's "rhona45th" not "rhonda45th"
. I find it hard to ignore factual inaccuracies, it is like an OCD! Nothing important, and of course no connection with the seller.

I may be wrong, but is this person actually selling a J-9 for $235?
