As I said in my other thread, I shoot medium format and recently purchashed a Epson Perfection 4490.
So far the scanned has yielded great results and I really am impressed by the digital ICE feature on my old slides.
One thing I cannot stand however is the epson software.
I see all over that many pro's use Vuescan, I have been to thier site and they don't seem to have a lot of info on it.
Will it still work with the Digital ICE on my 4490?
Can my girlfriend still use the more simplified Epson software if it is installed?
What are the benifits over the epson software?
I know its a lot of questions but with so many Vuescan users I figured it would be a worthwhile post.

Yes, you can use ICE with Vuescan, your girlfriend can still use the Epson scanning software, and the benefits of using Vuescan is scanning with preloaded film profiles, included in the software, or make your own film profiles for scanning.
