Hi all,
I recently found this gizmo at a local auction website:
Could it be a rangefinder for using with those cameras that don't have one? (Such as zone focus cameras)
It seems pretty old, i don't know if that may affect its performance?
How much would be reasonable to pay for it? They are selling it at 20 dollars.

Yes, that looks like a shoe mount rangefinder.

The only rangefinders I've seen were for the first (rangefinderless) Leica, or huge ones as used for artillery spotting and battleships

Yep...I believe that's a "clip on" RF. I believe there's one similar to it on Ritzcam's website under "accessories".
