Over the years, fellow members of RFF have been friendly and helpful in their words. Now I have Kim Coxon to thank for practical help: he just set right my Jupiter 3. He does a thorough job and sent sample pictures taken with the lens after he fixed it: which is why I did not trouble to take middle distance shots or many at apertures other than the widest. Attached are two pictures taken at f/1.5, the statuette at closest focus and the woman at 1.5 metres. Scans of 6" by 4" prints have only been cropped. Maybe I should have sharpened them a bit, as the original prints are crisp.

Thank you, Rover. I shall tell the old girl what you said, though she may not understand. gcsk76, the credit must go to Kim Coxon.
