Much as I really like the Zeiss 50mm f2, I am swapping it for a Rokkor 40mm. The ZM is just too long and front heavy on the CL for my street work. It doesn't sit right and it's also that much longer, with the crop, on the NEX-3.

Looking forward to a more compact lens for which the CL was designed (albeit not the Summicron-C).

I have read good things about the Rokkor and hope it lives up to its reputation. Anyone else made this switch?

I am on the same plane as you. konica m-hexanon 50/2 is as good of a 50mm M lens anyone would ever need but, with something like a collapsible summicron i can literally put it in the pocket of my jacket when I am done. With something like a DR/Rigid Summicron, ZM 50 Planar, 50 hex etc it's a little bit of a pain in the ass to have that "thing" stick out of the camera like that. Imagine a Leica Ic with a Elmar 50/3.5 how small that would be =)

the 2 frame lines (50 and 40) irritates the hell of out me whenever i use a 50mm lens...having used a 40mm cron-c previously i keep thinking about getting a 40mm to shut the 50mm frameline up.... :)

ps. i do have a very good and sharp sample of 50/1.9 canon lens which fits perfectly with the cl.
