So with all the new cameras coming out and the teasers seem to be daily. With that in years past what camera was the biggest let down to you after the official announcement?

Nex-7 after I saw the original Nex-5 was better with many RF wides.

Had it pre-ordered twice, but canceled. Got a 5n instead and it's still my primary camera :)

alls well that ends well.

The Leica X-vario and the Nikon Coolpix-A for the same 2 reasons - no viewfinder and priced way above what my money is worth.

My disappointment was recent but it wasn't a rangefinder. I had been hoping that Pentax's new camera would have a full frame sensor but the new K-3 is another APS-C sensor camera. Certainly a very nice one based on the early reports but certainly not anything I am interested in owning.

Probably the OM-D. Great sensor IMO but the ergonomics of the camera were a let down.

Any cheap camera will be a let down if you know the difference. Rolls is always better than Chevy for the people who can afford one.

I don`t hold my breath anymore. I just wait for real user reviews.

Leica M8 & 9 , D7000, D800, D700, D3 all please me. D200 in its own way. I REFUSE TO GET EXCITED OVER cheap cameras

...I don`t hold my breath anymore. I just wait for real user reviews.

Did you ever wonder if these "reviews" are inflated because the reviewer doesn't want to admit they bought a pig in a poke? I'm not talking the top tier reviewers; they get the loaners sent to them, I mean any of the hundreds who just found out the internet makes them an accomplished reviewer of that super-duper-model-X they just bought.

Nikon D800. Great camera when the sensor is clean but the oil splatter really made me rethink buying Nikon's in the future and i have been shooting with Nikon cameras for more than 40 years so it really was a let down.

Leica M9 even after I'd read tons of reviews.
The problem was with me though and not the camera! I just didn't get on with it. I've also gone off of Leica as a company probably due to the M8 screen thing.
Nikon have also been disappointing for me lately with the 600.
My thoughts and my perceptions could well differ from others!

Never really followed all the hype stuff.

Nearly every camera I've bought has been just what I expected, sometimes more. Only a couple disappointed me, but I bought them long after the hype had died away.

One thing that I have always wondered about is when you see the latest digicam advertised in the classifieds with claims that they couldn't get along with it after a week or two of use. On this basis I would have happily ditched my Merrills after a month or two because they were still frustrating me and it wasn't until a little after this time that I started to appreciate them.

Some people are way to quick too dismiss something new if it doesn't quite fit initially.
