dazed and confused
Something totally off the wall came to me a few mntutes ago while typing an answer to a question comparing the Canonet to a Leica.
It costs here in Oregon approx.
$30.00 to fill the wifes Saturn Sport Coupe with gas 34-37 mpg
$40.00 to fill the 67 Mustang I drive to work 23-26 mpg
$81.00 to fill my 1988 F250 Pickup 9-11mpg
So We have about the average range of what it costs to fill up a car right now.
And based on our average one could say a decent Canonet QL-17 G-III costs about the same as a single tank of gasoline. In the UK and some parts of the USA it would cost less.
And for the cost of 2-3 tanks of gas you could buy a real nice Canonet and have it professionally serviced.
Makes the little camera seam rather a good deal!

He: You paid less than $50 for that camera and it takes pictures like that?
Me: No, I paid less than $50 for that camera and I take pictures like that!
