Chris, this series get's better and better. I love the composition and grain. what stock did you shoot this on?

Tmax 3200 at EI-1600. All of the indoor photos except the one of the teddy bear were done with this film at 1600. The teddy bear is Tmax 400 at EI-320 and so are most of the outdoor pics, though a few are on Tri-X.

Wow, 5 posts and it is at "nice pictures, what film did you use?"

Chris, just know that I am really enjoying the photos. And know that I still do not care what camera, what lens, what film you used.

I plan to get a copy, just haven't had a chance to go explore the library yet. My schoolwork is killing me right now. I have 2 papers to write due in 2 weeks but I keep editing doll pics, lol. I'm obsessed. I have to do some research for my papers next week so i'll look for it when I am at the library then. 😉

I once found an old dolls head in the woods and brought it back to photograph. It was at my brothers place. We all joked about it, but later that doll head so creeped my brother out that he took it back out to the woods and buried it.

But it kept coming back... over and over... till my brother hacked the family to pieces.

Ok, I made up that last part. 😱

Thanks Bob. THe film did matter in these as it contributed to the harsh grainy look of the indoor pics, but yeah camera and lens didn't matter. I've used a couple different camera and lens systems and no one can tell which was shot with which. I don't mind answering tech questions, but I am glad everyone likes the photos too.

Bob, I couldn't help myself. A question that I almost never ask on the board, but this time I just found myself captivated by the way the grain complemented the composition and lighting. Gosh, I hope I don't develop a bad reputation.😱😀

i still have the doll - hidden in the bbq grill - and need to get her out again for some film rather than digital work.

chris, i really like your work. i noticed it today with the cats thread, and now the doll thread. you have your own vision. keep it up.

I'm confused. Are all of these "as found"? Or are you posing the dolls?

I found all of the dolls in the house. For some reason whoever abandoned the place left nothing but huge piles of trash, some broken furniture, and all these dolls. There are a couple more dolls I have photos of that are not posted on my website yet as well. All were found there.

I am moving and posing them for some photos and for some I am photographing them as I find them. The dolls are often moved between my visits. I know teens are playing around in the house; I caught a young couple making out on a table in the shed behind the house one afternoon back in October, when it was still warm outside here in Indiana.

The headless doll is eerie. You live in the midwest. How do these images compose your idea or concept of the area that you live in? I ask this because these are not either urban or surburban images.
