I must admit to being rather attracted to the DP1, as a quality pocket camera, but have so far held on to my cash - in view of the reports of various shortcomings, although picture quality would seem to be superb. Well the DP2 has been around a little while now, and no doubt some of you have invested, so is it worth the extra cash?, have the issues been addressed? and is it one of, if not the top dog compacts?
Dave.
P.S. there's a review in this week's AP (out in the UK tomorrow) but I just thought I'd see what you guys thought first!

I like it. The focal length is right for me, and it's faster than the DP1. I've been learning more about SPP and how to get the most out of it. The DP2 is very sharp with great dynamic range (for great B&W pictures).
The Foveon sensor is unique, and as good as other cameras are (compared to the DPx) they are simply different.

I don't own one, but I've played with one a little bit. I really don't like the feel on the DP2. It feels hollow and flimsy. I almost feel like it would break if you dropped it once.

The best camera is one that still works!
There were some DP-1 pics posted in a thread a couple of weeks ago that convinced me it's the only pocket cam I would buy. I hear they are a litle clunky to use but the image quality is very impressive ... particularly the dynamic range IMO.
