The dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone say

I don't know what made me think of this, but here's the story:

I have this t-shirt, which I don't wear anymore, that has the famous photo of Oswald being rubbed out by Ruby on it, but *somewhat* altered. See image attached.
Back when I used to wear it, I had it on one day and a girl I knew slightly (and well enough that I was aware of her limited intelligence) asked me, "What is that picture on your shirt?" I replied, "This is the famous Pulitzer Prize winning photo of Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey Oswald, slightly altered, of course." She looked at it for a long minute, like she had never seen the picture before, then said, in all seriousness:
"Hmm. I didn't know he was a singer."

That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone say.

I have to say, I admired the creativity and the black humor that went into this altered image. Besides, I used to be a musician, and we are automatically a twisted lot. I still have the shirt, but don't wear it anymore, because I finally decided it wasn't right to casually and humorously display the moment of someone's violent death. And, I kind of got to know Marina Oswald a little bit, and I started thinking of how it would make her feel to know that I was walking around wearing it.

Wondering what others have heard that made them think, "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone say."
Has to have been said in your presence. Doesn't count from something on TV, or second-hand, anything like that.

well, my mom came up one time [I rang a bell] and told her I needed a glass of water, she immediately said "what? you got a broken arm?".....

Ah, yes a broken arm and I am only home and NOT still in the hospital because you promised the doctor I would not get out of bed AT ALL!....

Well, I had a former co-worker tell me that the lead singer of Blood Sweat and Tears was Adam Clayton Powell. :)

Being of an age where both of those names are well known to me, I can see the humor there.
