Oh dear oh dear, I am distraught - yesterday I wanted to try out some night-time long exposures with my ql17giii.
I popped it onto B (having pressed in the little metal button) and tried to take the shot.. However the shutter wouldn't fire. I tried to put it onto a different shutter speed but the ring wouldn't move, having depressed he little metal button.
I gave it a wiggle and it came loose, only - very loose, the usual resistance as you rotate the ring was gone entirely. Instead, when rotating the shutter speed ring, the little 'electronic eye' dot wheel moves! This is usually controlled by the ISO selector!
I tried firing the shutter and it worked, but is now permanently on Bulb setting. Great.
So, a few things;
First, can anyone diagnose the situation, is she a goner?
Second, has anyone else experienced such a strange malfunction?
I don't think any parts were forced (and therefore broken), perhaps just come loose.. Although I have no idea how the thing works!
Third, to Canonet owners out there, be very careful when you choose to play with bulb setting....
Hope I can get it mended, I flipping love that lens.
