The force was too strong

The very modest cost must surely have been a domestic factor too. Congratulations, Tony, hope you'll enjoy... and post pics!

Thank you Doug :) I think the price helped and as the auction ended when many people are arriving home from work or getting ready to go out, the competition didn't push the price up to their usual price :D

I was shooting with a FED 2 this morning. I hadn't used it for a while. The back of mine fits very tightly. I have to push down (towards the camera bottom) with both thumbs to get it off and have to get it lined up perfectly to slide the back back on. But is is small and handy to carry around and of course has lugs for a strap, something later FEDs were missing. Enjoy it.

A guy told me today that he's been lusting after a Honda VT1800 for some time now. He finally bought one off e-Bay while his wife was on vacation, flew to Florida to pick it up, and drove it home (about 1,100 miles). Makes my old cameras seem pretty tame.

Thanks for the encouragement guys :)

I like the idea of the "Wife Distraction Service" LOL

I think my wife might object to the motorcycle as she has memories of driving out into the countryside to collect me after I came off a couple of times when she was pregnant. Strange but she always found me being cared for in a nice little pub with a beer in my hand. That's something she still reminds me of even though it was 16 years ago

Resistance is futile...and your wife seems to have been assimilated as well.

Congrats on the Fed. Let's see how it turns out if it gets a makeover.

My wife has put an embargo on eboy and i'm trying hard to be a good boy so it'll be lifted soon. What's unfair about it is that she gets to continue her purchase of Oly Pens to complete her collection. :(
