When I was trying to ascertain which Rolleis Vivian Maier had used, I found some of her selfportraits were we can see that she used a black Leica II and a Leica IIIc (stepper):

Who took this picture? That is not a self portrait, at least not with that Leica camera, it has no self timer and her hands are nowhere near the shutter release. Also the camera orientation doesn't match the framing of the shot. I don't remember seeing any VM pictures where she self-portrait'd with a tripod and a Rollei, that wasn't thru a mirror. Where did this picture come from?

Best,

........makes me wonder Helen whether you ever used a Rolleiflex .........

No rolleiflex only because I have a plustek scanner, now the 8200 series
which I Adore and I do Love 35mm
Hence The rollei would require another scanner

What do You think Ron, would it suit Me ?

A Rolleiflex suits any photographer... ;-)
Fun photos, Helen!

Definitely would suit you Helen! Think about the beautiful black & white in squire format and the great perspective that an 80mm or 75mm lens would provide (I bought an old Nikon coolscan for scanning the 6x6 format)

Your absolutely right, this one is (edit: probably) no selfie (edit: of course she could have used the selftimer on her Rolleiflex as mentioned below). Don't know who took it and where it was made. I believe to have read somewhere that she only took on pictures in 35mm in later life and that she did some color shots with the Leica's.

Since the picture is square and the angle is low, one possibility is Rollei with self-timer on a stable object (I don't think she ever used a tripod?).

Maybe she handed her Rollei camera to an older child she was in charge of, and he or she took the photo?
