To start us off: Art imitates life or life imitates art?
Ugh! Not fast enough. If only I'd been pointing the right direction and the street light hadn't changed and I was a little bit quicker on the draw.... The backstory:
The figure in the foreground is a painted bronze statue of a visually impaired gentleman and his guide dog. The statue is a tribute to The Seeing Eye, one of the largest guide dog training organizations in the world. The statue is located in Morristown, New Jersey. The Seeing Eye's headquarters are a few miles away. The figure in the background is a volunteer from The Seeing Eye who was on a training walk with one of their trainee dogs. If only I'd been little quicker, I might have framed this better to capture both the statue and the live person with the trusty, intelligent canine helpers. I think if I hang out there again, I can get one of the trainers to pose for me, but that would be cheating.
