Anyone ever use a bean bag support like The Pod with your TLR? I was thinking it would be useful to throw in a backback when you don't want to lug a tripod.

Well, I think just a plain bean bag rather than the pod would work better. A TLR is very well balanced so no need for a bean bag with a tripod mount on it, essentially.

I decided to get one and I think it will work quite well. Its not exactly a tripod, but better than setting my Rollei on the ground!

I looks like it will at the very least force you to hold the camera against a steady object, which should noticeably reduce camera shake.

The cheap ultra-light tripod... I hope my english is good enough to explain this old trick.

Take a piece of string, knot it to a tripod screw, screw it into the camera body. If you need a tripod let the string hang down, put your shoe on the loose end and tauten the string by lifting the camera up. You look like a halfwit with this accessory, but, voilà, 1/8 second handheld without a heavy tripod. In many cases this will be enough, one more reason to leave the expensive carbon masterpiece and the magnesium ballhead at home.
