I shot alot of BW400CN due to the lack of chemicals for true B&W when I was in Iraq, isn't it kind of funny the amber or bluish cast it can get on the printed photos, while some from the same roll will come out truly looking B&W? Nice photos, kids are so photogenic at that age. Mine are 6 & 9 now and they lose something as they get older, even they are still cute. No matter the film digital cannot (IMHO) give the same look, no matter how hard I tried. Thus my return to film as well

I found that the bluish cast I was getting from my Costco scans was solely the result of how Costco was processing the film. It doesn't always happen. Today, for example, I got back a roll of BW400CN that had no cast to it at all. It's really not a problem for me, because if I see that there is a cast to the film I simply batch process the whole roll to grayscale via Camera Raw in Photoshop.

Cheers...

I gave up on the local processors as they kept giving me green or blue tint with 400cn. Now,i just send film to mpix in their free postage paid mailers and problem solved. Also easyto have them make quality enlargements prints and scans onto DVDS.

Quite right; ultimately the cast is not relevant; you can change it to whatever cast you want in post, or none.
