Here in the UK anyway.
I telephoned Jessops, the country's largest photo retailers yesterday and was told that although KM scanners are no longer available to order, there is still stock in stores nationwide to the tune of 72 Scan dual IVs and 60 5400s. It's not clear whether that latter are I's or IIs however.
I was advised the best thing to do is go into my local store and negotiate with them in order to source one. I guess that is the difference between mail order and retail. Mail order doesn't have to stock enough for a nationwide chain of stores, so can restock quicker, but they also run dry more quickly.
Please guys though - don't buy them all just yet
