Now we've read a lot about sensors, resolutions, chimping, rangefinder magnifications, advance levers and new lenses!

But the final, decisive question of questions remains:
Will it run DOOM?

Isn't there already enough of these M8-guessing threads?
Why not use one of those.

Mark: Doom is a computer game that came out in the early 1990s where you run around in a 3D dungeon and kill monsters. It used to be quite notorious for graphic violence, but has been surpassed (what's the negative equivalent of "surpassed" by the way?) in this field by a lot of games since then. It was hugely popular in the 1990s and led to an immense loss of productivity in office computer networks because people would spend their days shooting each other in dungeons all the time instead of working.

Doom has become something of a geek icon since then and has been ported to almost everything that has a processor, a graphical display and a couple of buttons. Porting Doom to a new device (see list at itplaysdoom.com/) is something people apparently do for instant street credibility in the computer tinkerer and hacker scene. It has been ported to a number of digital cameras as well (a list is here). I used to know a couple of guys who actually played the game on their HP Photosmarts.

Doom was ported to other digital cameras.. will it be ported over to the M8? It's a joke. Laugh :p I did :D

To add to the M8 rumors, I'd like to know if you have to remove the baseplate to change the memory card.

Oh, that would be daft. I do, however, hope it retains a film advance lever like the R-D1. I find that a nice touch to slow us digital shooters down and work in a more deliberate filmlike environment.
