Wise choice for the 35S. Perfect camera for me. I have 4 Tessars and 6 Sonnars. 35S's f2.8 is just adequate for indoors with ASA400 film. F3.5 is a hair slow IMHO.

thanks for the reply, 2.8 is such as handy wxtra stop for indoors but the narrow depth of feild always scares me a bit.

thats a great collection you have by the way, I bet the Rolleis look great together

Yup, currently my Rollei 35 Classic is my only 35mm camera, and I think it'll stay that way. For me a 35mm camera needs to be pretty small, or I may as well take my Zeiss Super Ikonta, and the Rollei really fits the bill.

Thanks. The advantage of having several is that whenever one of them has a problem, you can always check others to figure it out. If I only had one, I wouldn't know what a working one should be like.

I never thought of that, I see you have a Retina IIa to, a great camera and very nice to look at to

I have the 35 German version (silver) and the 35s (black) and find if I want a film shooter when leaving home,I generally grab one of my little Rolleis before my M6/50 Summicron.

Yup. My black Rollei 35S has been with me for 24+ years now. It's the last of my Rollei 35 collection, at one time I had about a dozen of them including

Rollei 35 (german)
Rollei 35T
Rollei 35C
Rollei 35S (black)
Rollei 35SE
Rollei 35 S Silber Anniversary
Rollei 35 Classic Platinum
Rollei 35 (Schneider Xenar 40mm f/3.5 lens)
Rollei 35 20th Anniversary (#231 of 444)

and a couple of duplicate S and T models. Fine cameras.. :)
