My recently repaired Olympus OM4-Ti had a relapse , the exact same symptoms that I took it in for. Film winds, but shutter doesn't cock, this wasn't consistent, then went to 100% no shutter charging, then the winder jammed, then I put it away and took out my Nikon S2.

The S2 always gets comments, this time it was "That's a very nice old manual camera". The S2 worked fine and I shot a couple of rolls. Not enough, somehow I envision myself as a street photographer, able to roam the streets all day and take photos. Reality is a party of 10 people, mostly kids and most of the time spent eating and making sure no one gets lost.

Camera bags suck. as do knapsacks. My 20+ year old Domke satchel bag has lost its rubber grip, crumbled and eroded away. I need a new one, I liked the Lowepro 200 Sling - I've used that for my digital equipment, may look at that or at the "Bare Bones Bag" that I read about in the forums. Knapsacks for travel also slip off the shoulder, and somehow they never stay in the proper and ergonomic shape, you put something in them, and they become distended torture devices. Above all , never say knapsack and never say camera bag, and never-never say I travel with both. air travel with 2 bags slipping off shoulders is hell.

RFF got me a discount at the local camera store! When I recently bought film and chemicals, they asked if I was a student (no) orr a member of a club, I answered RFF and got 5% off - awesome.

I told my 10 year old that I was getting him a film camera, he thought for a while, integrating his knowledge of my hobby and his time with me in the darkroom and responded, "Dad this film camera, is it black and white or Color ?"
