A nice flea market find, it came with the grey suede case, and a good battery. I popped in some Kodak Ultramax 400, and hit the road.

Lovely pics.
The Mju:I/Stylus is a really underrated camera.

My local thrift store wants $15 (or was it $25?) for one. They used to show up frequently; not so much the last couple years. I already have one, got it somewhere else, who knows when, and I'm sure it was cheap.
My local thrift store appears to be smoking something.... Prices for various items (not just photo stuff) are often higher than the new price....and its old, tired, and frequently in disrepair. And, I can't tell if they actually sell any of this stuff, or occasionally clear it off to the dumpster if it sits unsold. I never see them lower prices to anything resembling normal thrift store prices and they won't consider offers, even it the thing has sat unsold forever.
I suppose I do occasionally get lucky there. But its a rare event; when someone made a "mistake" in pricing. Usually I'm just frustrated by the ridiculous prices wanted for things I would normally purchase at a regular thrift store.
OK, enough complaining. Instead I should dust off my old Stylus. I just got a few rolls of expired C-41 from a friend (fridge stored)...

Hi,
I guess they look on RFF and see how well we rate them and then put the price up...

$2 for my stylus epic with the 35mm f2.8 lens! I passed it along to someone else this summer.

Local Goodwill always has some sort of film camera for sale. Usually around $5.00. Some good finds occasionally.

Thanks, all. Yeah, they are great little wonders. This is my third Stylus (the second one is an Epic). Unfortunately, the Epic broke (transport gear train). But it came in handy as a parts donor because the retaining ball for the lens door was missing on my mju 1.
Now this one can be a back-up for the first one. Always good to have a spare when it comes to P&S cameras. I'd hate to think how many I have sitting around here that I bought for one to five dollars. It seems like the more I paid for one, the better the chance it was broken once I got it home and slipped some batteries inside.

Hi,
We really need a thread about cameras that are overshadowed by dearer versions.
Obviously the Olympus XA2 and XA3 are outshone by the XA, and then there's the Ricoh R1 and so on.

Happened to me as well.. had 2 of them break down. The gear/drive mechanism seems to be the Epic's/Mju-II's week spot. My Mju-I in contrast has proven much more robust (and is still ticking)..Unfortunately, the Epic broke (transport gear train)..
