See the Doll House project from the beginning

chris, the "seasonal" change does it for me. lots of reverberation: baby blankets, for e.g. very nice - i love the series.

"The Secret Life of a Lonely Doll"...FAB series

that Title is actually a Book about the Children's Author Dare Wright.
Her 1957 Book called 'The Lonely Doll' (she actually had 19 series books published)
was a HUGE Success with its distinctive B&W photography featuring a wide eyed Doll named Edith /all staged & shot BY Dare with her rolleiflex...some of the shots are quite Wild for that Time

her books had a fall from grace
when spanking children became a taboo in the 70's
and a few of those spanking shots with little Bear & Edith were considered too risque & Improper

anyway Chris, I could definitely see this in NOIRish book Form..
Best -H

Chilling images.

Do you have any lower environmental with them (the dolls) in for foreground? Sort of bodies on a beach sort of thing. Not that you need it, but I think that would be stronger. Perhaps scary strong.

In any event, very good stuff.

I just wanted to shoot them in their house and around it. Will do some more outdoor work after it warms up here. I do have some coming soon of them reading childrens books I found in the house that are really cool....just have to scan them. I have 6 more rolls of film from the Doll House to scan!

Wow...I would have missed all this had I not done my occasional scrolling though 20 pages or so of RFf posts. Beautiful work, Chris.

Your doll series makes a strong impression on me! The pictures induce a chilling wish to know; what happened in that house? Something akin to a feeling of reading James Ellroy at his darkest. So; Helen´s associations in a noir direction are spot on for me.
Really terrific!
