With all the talk of the M8 these days, lets not forget about our film idols 🙂 Afterall, these are the cameras that introduced us into photography. That being the case, I am reminding the digital RFF'ers that film is still tha majoity here and I will be shooting some BW400CN this week with my MP. As much as I love the M8, it still is no MP 😀

Also, lets not forget that this is an RF site. it's not a Analog RF or Digital RF. It is for any RF camera.

Again, don't forget the film. !!

did you ever beleave,
I'll change my MP to a M8?

Not, not ever!

The medium I want to use is film, only balck & white films.
A M8 will only be for cathing these color moments,
and time between to films.

Great -- thanks for adding to my frustration as I sit waiting for my Canon 7s to come back from its CLA at Essex!

I've been throwing film gang sign out the window where ever I go.😀

I stopped participating in the M8 threads after canceling my order and getting the MP3 instead. My God that is a beautiful kit! The 50 Summilux that comes in the kit lives up to the high standard I expect from Leica. The fit and finish is far above the black anodized lens IMO.

Ah - now I am jealous. I've been eyeing Tony's ad for that since I got here.

He has the lens for sale separate. Worth it if you were looking for a new 50 Summilux ASPH. Made out of brass with a very smooth focus... when you handle it you feel the quality in this lens.

Thanks Jorge for the reminder that my MP with 50mm DR and my M6TTL with its Summicron 35mm ASPH still matter. I love them both.

Cheers, cheers,
Alex

No M3 for me, an MP classic will do just fine 🙂 Actually, I can't wait to get home now and shoot with the MP.

With all the talk of the M8 these days, for me it's either the M6+film or go completely over to Canon d-SLR 😡

I did exactly that. A new lens arrived shortly before noon. Thanks Stephen in Seattle!

After lunch I shot the second half of the roll in the camera. I can't wait to see the photos!

Alas, it's not RF gear. I can't speak of such things here. Suffice to say the lens is W I D E and the negatives are L A R G E! 😀

The good news is that I was out exposing film!

Time to Fire up the MP

Time to Fire up the MP

I sure agree about the need to use film, but I will have to make do with my G2 with 28, 35, 45 and 90. I'm getting ready to head to the north GA and NC mountains for a week to visit some waterfalls after lots of rain last week. I got so antsy about the trip I pulled out some 2 year old Contax color negs and re-scanned them and fiddled with them in CS2. I hope to do much better with the G2 and the 28mm by using several of the tricks and techniques discussed on this forum. I'm tempted to leave the digital at home and make this a film only trip. Lets see, the G2, maybe the Nikon N80 and a 17-35, the old Mat 124G and the Moskva 5 I got from Steve along with my still working Weston Master V--ought to be a real trip if the light is good. If I take only color neg film and C41 B&W I can have it developed while I'm there. Hmmm, throw in the laptop and Epson flatbed scanner, too. Maybe I should stay TWO weeks! Glad I've got a great wife who is willing to tote the tripod.

You can't get more backwards than going from an M8 to an MP3...EXCELLENT, that's real progress!!!

You got the Black Paint then?

Whist pennyfarthings are somewhat inconvenient, Leica Ms are still the tool of choice for mono street photography.....
