Hi all, Menos suggest that I should put the images from Amedeo's recent creation, the Nikkor-S 55/1.2 in M-mount here, as it's one hell of a mad mod.

Pics of the lens itself is here.

The lens feels very solid, the focus movement is well-damped and very smooth. Amedeo also machined the mount with slots for M8/9 lens detection. The only "problem" there is is the aperture and focus ring are quite close and of the same shape/texture so on the first few use I often mistake one for the other.

And here are the first few pics from it on the M8, pardon me for not having anymore, I'm still rather ill and these are as many as I can do holding the camera while coughing my throat out.

First impression, decent sharpness at the center at 1.2, some veiling flare when shot against the light, as in pic no.1, lots of oval shape bokeh. All pics are straight DNG, just import into LR3 and export out without any adjustment.

This one is OOF but it's kinda nice so here goes anyway

The weird leaves color is due to the lack of IR filter, the bokeh is a bit busy but the flower is decently sharp 🙂

More pics to come when I get better!

Thankyou for posting!

I have two 55/1.2's in F-mount, my favorites. Over the center 2/3rds of the image the 55/1.2 tested better than the 50/1.4 of the day.

52mm IR Cut filters were made for the first generation DSLR's in the 90s, and marketed as "Hot Mirror" filters. Tiffen makes the ones that I use. Can often be picked up inexpensively on Ebay. Some patience required.
