I just wanted to say to all those who sent private messages - nzeeman - mnmleung - wolves - varjag - richard jekinson - rbiemer - Ruben - Brian Sweeney etc that I do appreciate your responses , but that I often get out of phase with it all and may seem rude and not reply properly . It's similar with the forum posts .

If this is so , it's not intentional and I do appreciate your interest .

As for cameras , I have settled / bought / having made [ !? ] all those I have been looking for - including a mint 1952 Kiev II - and my secret funds are exhausted [ kind of e-bay recycling 50s Dinky Toys into Kiev / Contax ]
These are all ongoing in Kiev , I anticipate my Contax II / III / IV* collection within a month .

I can't say if it will all close in on me again - both in the general forums or otherwise - I have also had to pace myself in the Autistism Support Network ' cos it all gets on top of me .

It's like a lost bewildered ' child ' and it ain't gonna change - but I do appreciate just being here and talking about my comfort zone of Kievs and Contax [ or both together - literally LOL ]

Also following the experiences of others here .

I just think it is going to be really cool to have a lens made from German and Soviet parts on a Camera made from German and Soviet Parts!

And the lens is from 1959, the mount is from 1937. Should also reflect the cameras!

As my identity is fragmented and dee'slocated both by the Autistic Imp and girl/boy/child stuff , I love cameras of a similar situation - Leica-likes from unsuspecting Zorkis and Feds , and Kombined Kontaxes !
Thanks Joe - ASdee can be such an embarrasment and humiliation , 'cos I am kinda out of phase .

One major aspect which I notice in ASD , is that I see mostly shapes , profile ,patterns to work out same and not same .
This means that an Autistic child may not see several not same shape BUS as being the same kind of thing . One BUS may become familiar and therefore safe , but one of a not same size / weight / shape / colour etc may cause anxiety , because it is not ' THE BUS '

Most people have an IDEA of BUS based on FUNCTION / USEAGE , which overides the actual shape / form . This programme is missing / damaged .
I have learned to apply this CONCEPTUAL recognition , but the anxiety remains .

Contax / Kiev is more consistent than virtually any other object and ' not samenes ' is limited enough to be intruiguing rather than scary .

However eliminating details which me mind gets stuck on helps . There's a lot of other stuff , but this seems to be what I recognise in ASD people .

Daniel Tammet - a well-known 'high-functioning' person with autism has written a number of books that are both insightful and enlightening... his latest book, Embracing the Wide Sky is a wonderful read and recommended for those who would like to learn more about how at least one person with autism 'see's the world'...

Dee, that is a most interesting and informative explanation ... I truly appreciate it.

Unfortunately I am now even more intrigued about Contax/Kiev! There's a really nice one at a shop in Windsor. The shop owner is a very clever repairman to boot, and he has done a full refurb, including nice red clothes. It even sports a Helios, a lens I find I like the best of the Contax mount normals. I'm not sure if he is interested in selling, but ...

Dee, Do Not be embarrassed. Last year I had a long talk with the mother of a child with a severe handicap. She told me that in the eyes of the Almighty, we are ALL special needs children.

I mostly use Leica M but I share a crazy love for Zorkis, Kievs and a few other odd cameras. Joe
