After multiple trials I have found a way to smoothen the focusing ring that doesn't involve too much disassembly, but a little bit. For further questions you are kindly invited to PM me.

I'm afraid that it wouldn't help me with the Lynx 1000 I found in my father's collection. THAT camera is partially disassembled; lens barrel hanging by wires, with screws, misc. plates, and covers nicely stowed in a clear plastic lure box accompanied by dad's wiring diagram sketches.

It does have a very large, bright, and clear viewfinder though.

Just one more puzzle from dad's collection that I don't know much about.
