TO THE VIRGINS, TO MAKE MUCH OF TIME.
by Robert Herrick
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.
That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.
Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may go marry:
For having lost but once your prime
You may for ever tarry.

I originally did this with my Bessa R and a Canon Serenar 85mm f1.9 all the way open. But the negative came out with a nasty streak on it at the developers. So I went back last night and redid this with what I had loaded with film at the time - a Bessaflex TM and a vintage Spiratone 105mm f2.5, all the way open - 1/125 @ f2.5, Kodak B&W 400 C-41 consumer-grade. Processed at the local Walgreens (no print, just processed) and scanned with Konica-Minolta ScanDual IV. Whew!
I intend to do the whole thing again with my Bessa R just so I can post the result in the gallery. What I go through to keep myself honest for you guys.
Best Regards,
Bill Mattocks

My M5s need red dots!
You're a pretty literate Guapo, Bill. It's a nice combination you got there!
