When I'm not swinging around my Bessa mounted with Canon LTM lenses, my next favorite thing is my various Canon MF SLRs. I stopped in at my LFCS the other day as I had some Kodachrome to pick up and made the mistake of looking at the used goods shelves. Big new bunch of old Canon gear in on consignment. And even more dangerously, it was rather sanely priced (!). A bit of looking and pondering ensued with me leaving there more than a couple of dollars lighter.
I got a near mint Canon FL 55/1.2 lens with front lens cap for $40 & a Canon FL 135/3.5 lens with hood & both caps but a dented filter ring (do apparent other damage though) for $25. I've been playing all weekend but haven't got anything dunked yet. I just needed to mention it here as it's been a big bit of fun to play with these on my Canon T90. It's amazing just how nearly point and shoot stop down metering can be with the right camera.
Is that true with other MF systems? I'd imagine that there must be M42/K-Mount camera combinations that work that seamlessly, but others?
Thanks!
William
