Uncle Bill had a good idea and I would like to formalize it here. Joe could you make this a sticky for us?

Anyone have ideas for where and when? I would like to suggest downtown, and 2 dates, one in July and one in August.

i think all the toronto shooters are out partying victor.
maybe check back tomorrow morning...maybe late morning, after coffee.

joe

I don't know Downtown too well, other than Queen and Church St. (camera stores) I like the idea of a pub dinner and drinks after a day or afternoon of shooting. Personally I like abandoned/derelict urban areas because I don't find that in my small town. An event of some kind is best for people photography because it brings lots of people together and a photographer comes across as a tourist.

Distillery district could be fun. Harbourfront and vicinity is a good summer spot. Queen St W is always colourful and interesting. Lotsa pubs everywhere :D

Since I sort of started this madness...I mean really cool idea. I should add in my thoughts on this. I work in retail which means I work one weekend and the following I get off, once I get a handle on my schedule a bit I could become the ring leader. One neighbourhood I love shooting in is the Beaches. There is nice pub called Lion on the Beach with patio would be the perfect meeting spot. The Cadillac on Queen west is anther great spot for a meet up. Also lets not forget the Annex, the Danforth and Little Italy Two dates would be a really good idea one in July and one in August. Lets talk further on this one.

Bill

How about different locations for different dates? I forget about Liberty Village but there is not a lot pedestrian traffic, but a lot of former industrial becoming commercial/residential. As for the camera store visits at Queen and Church. I check them out on a regular basis anyway and not much has changed other than HEnry's has consolodated a lot of their used SLR equipment into half the space.

Have RF - will travel !!

This sounds like great idea. I have no specific location in mind, however, to avoid high cost (and often limited) parking, we may want to meet at a location easily reached by Subway.

I do hope that this happens and will look forward to it.

Regards to all

Bill K.

We could meet at the Bedford Academy, its in the Annex near Subway, close to Yorkville with tons of people photography opportunities. Just bouncing ideas out there.

Bill

Hi everyone,
I know this is short notice, how about we meet up Saturday July 16th in the afternoon? Any ideas for a location?

Bill

PS. There is talk of a strike by municipal "outside workers" that could interfere with ferry service. July 16 is still a couple weeks away, though.

I'd love to attend, and I'm pretty sure that date works for me. As for location, anywhere downtown (Queen st., China town, Kensington market) isgood.

Say, does anyone know when the Jazz festival is along the Beaches?

I've pencilled it into my calendar. Anywhere downtown is good for me. Looking forward to 'meeting' some of you!

Gene

Ok, I am thinking mid afternoon like 2pm in Kensington Market, Baldwin and Agusta Northeast corner? Weather permiting of course. As for the municipal workers strike, who knows on that one. Let's see closer to the date how things shake out.
