Trying to gauge interest for a gathering around boxing day or New Year's. May be tricky because of the days upon which Christmas and New Year's fall this year. Not sure what will be open on the weekends. We could try to find a bar open Monday, December 28th, which looks like the best day of the bunch. Fire away.

Winter? I think winter is cancelled this year. But OK, if winter happens, I'm in!

I am interested. The last one was fun. The venue in Kensinton Market was good too.
There is a Firkin pub in my neighbourhood Quail and Firkin, 1055 Yonge Street-- Yonge and Davenport area -- that never seems to close. It's on the subway. Other Firkins are likely to be open too.
Once a date is picked, I will be happy to check on their schedule.

Definitely interested, but the season dictates I'm visiting with friends and family for most of those days. If the date pushes back into early 2010 I'm in.

The January 9/10 weekend falls after the end of December activities, like shopping for family gatherings and travel to get to them. Would early Jan., not necessarily the 9/10, work for more people?

If the weekend of Jan 9-10 works better for most people, I'm fine with that. I suggested around Boxing Day because we had had a couple before at that time, but as I acknowledged the dates don't really work well this year. Of the 9th and 10th, I prefer the Saturday. Yonge-Davenport area is okay for me, so I can honestly deny accusations that I refuse to go north of Bloor.

Jan 9/10 probably works better for me, too, if I can make it.

Early in the new year works best for me as well.

I'd be happy with a late Dec/post-Xmas meet. Would love to return to the Beer Bistro. That place worked out wonderfully for the last one I attended last winter. Good brunch too.

I'm also cool with that.

Location matters more to me.
As long as it is very downtown, I think I can make it.

As I went this afternoon to the Rivoli for lunch, I am strongly going to lobby for that joint - the light upstairs around noonish is awesome and today was overcast.
ISO 1600 is a no brainer
I'm in..

Rivoli sounds good. Do we need to reserve something?

Well, I was there at noon till about 1:30pm and other than the 6 of us, there was one other couple in the whole place upstairs.
It may be different over the holidays and on a weekend but I would guess we should be ok depending on the size of the group.
Cheers,
Dave
