Take the free ferry to the Toronto Islands for a great view of the city and more photo opps.
Walk along Queen St between Yonge and Bathhurst or even farther, jog up to Dundas to see China Town, and a bit farther north to Kensington Market.

Great street festivals:
I agree with Kensington Market... great place to shoot. Especially when they have their car-free Sundays.

Queen East at Sherbourne... not the best area of town, as shown by the bars on all the windows... Even there I don't feel afraid to shoot on the street.

Love your shots! I was just in Toronto and did a lot of walkabout street photography...great advice about destinations, I can second them.
I had great luck in Chinatown, Kensington Market, the Beaches...Queen West is hipster-ish but great for street photography also. It's an interesting city.

I lived in Toronto for 10 years, but moved away about 6 years ago. It was only after leaving that I really got into street photography, though here are some shots of Yonge-Dundas from around 1998... almost everything in the background is long demolished.

Nice photos, but no shots of the Indy cars tearing around the streets?
Photos of da wahine standing around talking on cell phones, nice as that may be to some people, ain't gonna get it in such a city. I wanna see some action shots! By the way, if that guy w/ the turban that's being wheeled around in his wonderful convenience by his buddies ever needs a stand-in, I'm available on short notice.

CapitalK: If you have any other photos of those since-demolished blocks, I'd love to see 'em.
