All right, it's my own fault. The image mask in the front part of my TEWE viewfinder was tipped a little off the horizontal, and I thought I would straighten it out. So I coaxed out the threaded retaining ring, no problem; two lenses and the mask fell out in my hand.

Trouble is, I'm not sure how it goes back together. Both of the lenses are ever so slightly convex, and I get that the innermost lens is a little smaller in diameter than the front one. But how do they face? Convex side in or out. It doesn't seem to work putting the convex sides together, but which of the remaining options is correct?

It is so fiddely screwing the ring in over and over and checking how the thing works, that I thoughgt I would ask you all. My fingers seems to type better than they do camera repair. Maybe some of you wise heads will have an answer for me by the time I get back to this project.

Then there's the problem of how to keep the nicely horizontalized mask in place while screwing in the retaining ring. It seems to want to shift off the horizontal as one tightens things up. Oh, well ...

Thanks in advance.

Peter
