edit: this may be in the wrong section. still learning my way around here. if it is, please put it where it should be
Hey all, I thought I'd share one of my latest ideas when putting various lenses on different mounts using adapters.
One thing I love is russian glass. So when the opportunity arose to pick up a Helios lens, I took it and used it for a while on a Pentax LX. Eventually the LX's light meter gave out, and so I kept the lens and body sitting on a shelf until I could find better use from it.
Now the lens has been resurrected to use again when I picked up a Sony NEX-7 along with a Novoflex adapter. M42 to E mount.
Here's a shot of the setup (please excuse the poor lighting):
I am pretty happy with the results so far and will hopefully keep using this setup for more future trips. For shooting, it's very reminiscent of using a Medium format camera with waist level viewing, thanks to the NEX's flip up LCD. It's very different and I always get some peculiar looks from people in the city.
Here are some images so far:
test shot At f1.5 (not tack sharp wide open, and there is loss of contrast)
At f2 (at f2, it finally sharpens up quite well and so does contrast)
At f4.5 (added color saturation in LR)
