I've been looking for a light leak in my Kiev 4AM. I've found that when I carry and use the camera in its case, there are no light leaks. This being the case (bad pun intended), where is the most likely place for a light leak if I don't use the camera in its case? I was ready to order another one from Yuri, but I decided to give it one more try, this time with a case. If it's a simple fix, like replacing the "yak hair" light seals around the door, I can do that. If it involves taking the top plate off, the camera will simply wear its leather jacket. What has been your experience in these matter?

Where is it leaking? Please post a pic showing the fogging. Hopefully people on the list can guide you to a solution. These are usually not too difficult.

I have had a similar situation with mine some time ago.I had very faint leaks along the sprocket holes one one roll.I did the same as you have done, that is use the case - and no leaks. Then I thought a bit more about how i was carrying the camera without the case and I believe i was applying pressure onto the camera back as i was carrying it on this particular day.I now am a bit more careful about how i hold the camera in my hand when walking about and have not had any problems since. If I apply pressure to the back of the camera i can actually see slight movement. This may or may not be helpful in your situation. The kiev can also leak around the speed change dial.

Both of my 4As are leaking from both sides of the back cover. I should do something about it but whenever I load film, I do it in the dark and use the camera with its case. Again, there is some slight fogging at the top of the film. I will do something about it before shooting my next film.
