Tungsten film in sunlight - color-correct the scan?

I can acquire 50 rolls of cold-stored/outdated Fuji RTPII tungsten slide film (ISO 64) for about a dollar apiece.

For use in daylight, would there be any loss in quality color-correcting after scanning? A warming filter would lose just enough speed to make the film less useful.
 
I only know, that the other way around leads to a good deal of loss of quality. I suppose it should work both ways.
But it's possible; depending on the subject it might be not that important, how close to "reality" the final image will be.
 
If it were me, I would use a filter. ISO 32 (with filter) is close to the original ISO of Kodachrome25, and many award winning photos were made with this film, and you could just consider it a exercise in photo technique. I don't think you can make such broad color balance changes in scanning, without getting color crossover.
 
Depends on how picky you are about color. If you are, I'd suggest passing on this and finding a deal for a film you'd really prefer to use.

How much will it cost to process all of that film? Way more than the film itself will cost. I bet you could find some outdated daylight film for about the same price and make your life easy.

OTOH, if the seller will let you shoot a roll so you can test it, that would really answer your question.

its such nice film, under tungsten light. i have filtered tungsten for daylight and it was okay... just okay, but i didn't explore it to really find out how well it works.
but at 1/10th the price it might be worth trying. then again, maybe you could do a lot of interior shots...
 
In the days of home movies, and particularly Super8, most everybody shot tungsten balanced Kodachrome, and (in Super8) the camera had a built-in color conversion filter to shoot in daylight. Thus one film. If the color conversion filter is a good one, there should be no difference in image quality.
